The BIG debate

Many of you who read this blog do not know me. Also, many of you who read this blog are different from me too. After all, God made us all different. That being said, everyone out there is welcome to to read my blog, but there is no reason to be judgemental about the things that make us different or the things that I endorse in my life that you may not. When I started this blog I was naive about how nasty people can be. And frankly, I talked with my husband about taking this blog off the net all together. But He is an amazing man and encouraged me to stand firm in who I am and not be ashamed. Even with that being said, it is not necessary to use a blog as a mask to be judgemental and hurtful to others. While I like tattoos and use them as an opportunity to show the world who I am through Christ and what He has done for me, I am not forcing them on any of you. I love all people tattooed or not. It's a non issue. Maybe we should all show a little grace to one another because the Father has shown us all far more grace than we deserve.

Hi Amanda,
thanks for sharing at the retreat. I am always amazed to hear the power of God in the lives of others. I am sorry the mean people have found you - that is one thing I have learned from blogging...there are mean, hate-filled people out there - in some ways it would be easier if they could just be honest to your face. I was very hurt over comments that I got, but what I have learned is that God knows my heart and loves me and my husband knows my heart and loves me! I have also learned that there will always be people who don't like you, there were those who didn't like Jesus and judged him unfairly. So I say, live your life in the light of Jesus and blog in the joy and freedom that comes from him. :)

Annette, you are so nice and I am thankful that Harvest is filled with Godly woman who accept me and love me just how I am. After all, how much fun would life be if we were all alike? Thanks for the encouragement!

Wow, Amanda, that is an amazing picture of you on that bridge. You are not alone, I think we've all had times (those of us who blog) that we wanted to throw in the towel and just shut down our blogs, but your husband has given you wise advice to stand firm. You know the truth, even if others don't, and praise God!...the truth does indeed set us free!

Those who stand for the truth of the gospel will always face opposition. Stand strong in His grace!

moderate your comments and you can delete all the really mean comments instead of letting them go public!

Also, on my blog I have a "don't get bent" clause on the side. it helps.

Hi, Amanda ~
I figure that the mean ones (and they must really be unhappy and miserable to mean to someone diagnosed with cancer, for goodness' sake!) are an opportunity for me to show God's grace back, and a chance to witness. I am always blessed by your testimony, and applaud your transparency and honesty. You sharing your journey is going to touch someone out there with God's mercy. I think the mean comments are Satan's way of trying to keep that from happening. So let your light shine, girl!
